Various Days

There are many things to do around Tain. We took a few hours on Wednesday to see some sheep that a farmer in the congregation had rounded up for us with his dogs. Kristiana was elated to see the lambs until she was up close to them. Micaiah, however, was persuaded to pet one. Wednesday night, after prayer meeting, John and Joshua went fly fishing at one of the congregation’s farms from around 10:00pm to midnight. (It does begin to get a little dark in the southern sky by 12:00 though the northern sky is quite bright. Lucy witnesses the sunrise at 4:00 each morning because Stephen’s clock thinks it is morning.) Back to the fly fishing, John and Joshua landed two blue trout. Roddy cleaned them for us and we ate them for brunch on Thursday. Later on Thursday John had lunch at a seaside cottage with some men and women from Christian Focus and John Piper and his wife and daughter. Lucy and John try to walk the town together each morning and pick up fresh bread and scones for breakfast. There are also lovely walks in the heather and hills near our house. One place even has this lovely croft ruins. Jessica has been a delight to have with us. We wonder what her parents are going to do without her when we get back home.
