Thanks to all who wrote a comment on John's birthday blog. We had a blast. John was delighted to have an excuse to call his dear friend Cope since his family wrote the 40th comment of the day! We had 57 reasons to think of our friends from afar and we can't forget Mary and Hugh from our new home who wanted you all to know that John is loved here too!
We had a delightful day. The kids did a little school but like John said, "When the king has a birthday the whole country has a holiday." Likewise in our home we all celebrated with the man of the house!
The van Eyk cake was edible this time. Not quite like mom's but it ended our dinner party delightfully! After our guests left we were able to call my brother in law for his birthday. Never before could he and John share a birthday but with the time difference, Dec 13 for us was still Dec 12 for them.
Today we especially miss the Pennings' family as they meet for their Christmas dinner. We would love to be there to see them all but the Lord has other plans!
